The vision of Green Hills Church is to call people back to God and disciple them into mature followers of Jesus.
The sole basis of our belief is the Bible, uniquely God-inspired, without error in the original manuscripts, and the final authority in all matters on which it speaks. As the Bible teaches, there is one God, eternally existing in three distinct persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—each possessing all the attributes of Deity. We believe that Jesus Christ is the second member of the Trinity (the Son of God) who became flesh to reveal God to man and to become the Savior of the lost world.
We believe that mankind was created in the image of God to have fellowship with Him, but became alienated from that relationship through sinful disobedience. As a result, man is totally incapable of coming back into a right relationship with God by his own effort.
Jesus Christ lived a sinless life on earth and voluntarily paid for our sin by dying on the cross as our substitute. His shed blood on the cross provides the sole basis for the forgiveness of sins. Therefore, salvation only occurs when a person places his faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as the sufficient payment for his sin.
All followers of Jesus are called to pattern their lives after His teaching and message. They are to live out the great commission that He left us, by maturing in their own faith and helping others follow after Christ by loving Him and making Him known to a lost world. The Church is a corporate expression of disciples, committed to glorifying God and living out the message and mission of Jesus Christ until His second coming.
